Kalimbas are reed instruments that originate in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B15 is carefully handcrafted from solid American cherry (black cherry) in Walsrode. The surfaces are treated with vegetable oils and waxes and polished. The 15 reeds are precisely tuned to the G major scale, which means that a wide variety of songs can be played. The Kalimba B15 is also just as suitable for improvising and intuitive playing as well as for chord accompaniment to melodies.
