The Big Kalimba Textbook is a detailed textbook for the single-row 17-note C major kalimba, the oldest and best-selling kalimba type in the world. It is suitable for both beginners and more advanced players.

The introduction, which is richly illustrated and supplemented by videos, explains everything you need to know about handling, tuning and plucking techniques on the Kalimba. The musical part begins with practical exercises focusing on orientation and playing melodies and chords.

The main part of the book consists of 70 pieces arranged especially for this kalimba in 5 levels of difficulty. All pieces are notated in melody form. There are also accompaniment arrangements for around 50 pieces, which allow the player to play the piece together with others or to accompany themselves by singing. A challenge for experienced kalimba players are the instrumental versions in which melody and accompaniment are played together.

The repertoire describes a colorful mix of styles from the world of music: in addition to traditional themes from pop, folk and country music, there are Christmas and children's songs, chorales and classical themes.
