Korg CA-50
A portable tuning solution in pocket format.
The CA-50: The standard tuner for orchestral instruments, now with even better visibility.
The CA-50 offers high-precision tuning functionality and a sleek and compact design. The display on the new CA-50 is now even easier to read. Long considered the standard among chromatic tuners, the CA-50 offers simple and intuitive operation and a perfect tuning experience for any instrumentalist.
An even more readable display with a larger note name display.
The CA-50's LCD screen features a needle meter to quickly and accurately indicate pitch, and displays a note name in the center of the display. The note name display is now larger and even easier to read, ensuring simple and smooth operation even for beginners.
The CA-50 has a detection range of A0 (27.50 Hz) to C8 (4186.01 Hz). For wind instruments from piccolo to tuba or string instruments from violin to double bass, you can set band or orchestral instruments of any pitch. A highly sensitive microphone is built in so that the note name can be accurately recognized even without a contact microphone. If you use the separately available CM-200 contact microphone, you can be sure that nearby sounds will not affect the result.
The calibration function supports a variety of concert tunings. It can be adjusted in 1 Hz units in the range of 410-480 Hz, allowing flexible tuning to suit the song or key.
Markings for indicating pure major and minor third intervals
The CA-50's meter scale features markings that indicate pure major and minor third intervals. By tuning to these marks*, you can play beautiful harmonies when you're in an ensemble. This is useful not only in a brass band or orchestra, but also for vocal or a cappella practice.
* When you assign a pure major or minor third, the note to set depends on the music you are playing.
In "Sound Out" mode, you can hear a reference tone output from the internal speaker. This allows you to search by ear. A reference tone in the range of C4 (261.63 Hz) to C5 (523.25 Hz) can be output. You can check the pitch by both eye and ear, allowing you to tune more accurately. It is also an ideal way to train your sense of tone.
The CA-50 can be used for approximately 135 hours (when using zinc-carbon batteries). When the remaining battery capacity is low, the display will show an indicator to inform you that it is time to change the batteries.
Less stress when using the device on a music stand.
A new mechanism reduces the possibility of the unit tipping over, making it less likely that the tuner will slip and fall on a music stand. You can concentrate on your playing without worrying about the tuner falling during the performance.
The memory backup function saves the calibration and sound output mode settings even when the power is turned off. (The settings are initialized when you replace the batteries.) The auto power off function turns the power off automatically if 20 minutes have passed without a sound being input.
Stylish design with excellent functionality.
The folding stand allows the tuner unit itself to be more stable. The battery compartment cover is made as one piece with the device itself, so there is no risk of losing the cover when replacing the batteries.
